Dr Nitin Labhsetwar is with Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) – National Environmental Engineering Research Institute, Nagpur as Chief Scientist and Head, Energy and Resource Management Department. Dr Nitin has over 35 years of industrial research experience in the field of energy and environmental issues related to it. Dr Nitin hold 22 international and 18 national patents to his name. Dr Nitin have been able to publish more than 170 research papers in elite journals and 6000 citations for his research activities across the global. Dr Nitin have been awarded numerous prestigious awards throughout his illustrious career. To name a few, Distinguished scientist award 2019, by Indian Association of solid-state chemist and allied scientist.
Dr Nitin is actively engaged in the domain of Environmental Science and Engineering. Major research and demonstrations projects under the leadership of Dr Nitin includes – cleaner energy generation, minimizing environmental footprints of different energy options and devices. Automobile emission control and management.
Dr Nitin have been actively involved in development of appropriate rural technologies for enhancing rural economy. Dr Nitin was instrumental in setting up emission measurement laboratory at CSIR NEERI for monitoring household level emission due to solid biomass fuel.
Dr Nitin have completed post-doctoral degree from National Institute for Material science, Tsukuba, Japan in Nano materials for energy and environmental applications.
